Job Description The Welding Supervisor leads and supports manufacturing employees to safely and efficiently build and ship high-quality products while meeting customer requirements. This hands-on leadership role coordinates staffing, workflow, production schedules, quality, and safety while assisting with welding and other production activities as needed. The supervisor also drives Lean Manufacturing, 5S, cross-training, continuous improvement, and employee development.
Responsibilities: • Lead and support manufacturing employees to meet production, quality, safety, and delivery goals. • Coordinate staffing, work schedules, daily workflow, labor needs, and production priorities. • Assist the team on the shop floor with welding and other production activities when needed. • Resolve production issues and improve production methods, equipment performance, quality, and efficiency. • Drive 5S, Lean Manufacturing, cross-training, safety inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements: • Welding and manufacturing experience preferred; previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. • Associate degree or equivalent experience/training ; six months to one year of related experience and/or training may qualify. • Strong communication, organization, scheduling, leadership, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedures, and schedules. • Must successfully complete the in-house forklift and overhead crane certification program before operating these machines; training is provided.
