Position Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Edison Local Schools / Milan, OH
Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $120/Day
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is looking for adaptable and dependable Substitute Teachers to step into classrooms when regular educators are unavailable. This position helps maintain instructional consistency, supports student learning, and ensures a structured, supportive classroom environment throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Follow and implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
Maintain classroom structure and promote a respectful, productive learning environment
Provide instruction and academic support to students as needed
Adjust teaching approach based on grade level and subject area requirements
Record attendance and complete required daily documentation
Communicate and coordinate with school staff and administrators
Supervise students during transitions, lunch periods, recess, and other assigned times
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Ohio substitute teaching license or other approved teaching credential
Successful completion of required background checks
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to implement lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments
Professional, patient, and student-focused approach
Compliance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching, tutoring, or childcare settings
Understanding of classroom management techniques
Experience working with diverse student populations
