Hiring: Sr. Controller
Location: Dallas, TX Tampa, FL Rosemont, IL
Salary: $170,000 $225,000/yr
Schedule: Full-time Hybrid
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a senior-level Controller with extensive mortgage servicing and financial services accounting experience. This role will lead enterprise accounting, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, audit coordination, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting process improvement while providing financial leadership across multiple business entities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions
Oversee timely month-end and year-end close processes
Manage cash flow, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounts, and bank reconciliations
Oversee internal reporting, disbursement reviews, debt reporting, and lender covenant compliance
Coordinate external financial audits and regulatory reviews
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial resource planning
Oversee mortgage servicing rights valuation and related accounting requirements
Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and investor reporting requirements
Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, controls, and processes
Review contracts to determine asset ownership and appropriate financial recognition
Lead, develop, coach, and mentor accounting teams
Partner with auditors, regulators, valuation firms, and executive stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or equivalent professional certification
15+ years of progressive accounting experience
10+ years of senior accounting experience within mortgage servicing or financial services
Controller-level experience required
Previous experience managing people and leading teams
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, investor reporting, MSR valuation, audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
Experience with mortgage servicing platforms and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong financial analysis, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Experience leading process improvements and cross-functional teams
