Hiring: Plant Accountant
Location: Corsicana, TX
Salary: $85,000 - $115,000/yr
Schedule: Full-time On-Site
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to provide financial, cost accounting, and analytical support for a chemical manufacturing facility in Corsicana. This role will partner with plant leadership and the Plant Controller to support financial reporting, cost management, inventory accuracy, forecasting, budgeting, and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Track and review manufacturing spending and identify variances or anomalies
Perform financial and manufacturing analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting
Provide COGS forecasting, including standard cost, PPV, and manufacturing variances
Prepare plant financial reports and explain significant variances
Manage inventory accuracy, reconciliations, and financial impact analysis
Perform cost runs and validate product costing in coordination with Engineering
Analyze production and purchase price variances
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
Reconcile accrual and prepaid accounts
Support quarterly and annual audits
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and SOX internal controls
Review Trade and Intercompany Revenue and COGS for accuracy
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
Calculate labor and overhead rates
Provide financial insights to plant leadership
Support operational efficiency and cost improvement initiatives
Support corporate data requests, government surveys, and tax-related requests
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
SAP experience, particularly GL, Costing, Procurement, and Inventory
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Ability to identify errors and inconsistencies and take appropriate action
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities
Ability to work overtime when required for closing activities, budget deadlines, or special projects
Willingness to work in a plant business-office environment with regular visits into the chemical manufacturing facility
CPA or CMA certification preferred
Minimal travel required
